After a very enjoyable show (and even some sunshine!) at RHS Garden Wisley this month we felt in the mood for fresh, seasonal produce. In the month of May that means asparagus!
After a very enjoyable show (and even some sunshine!) at RHS Garden Wisley this month we felt in the mood for fresh, seasonal produce. In the month of May that means asparagus!
Thanks to this spell of brighter, warmer weather, we at Studio 19 are dying to get out of the workshop and into the garden. What better excuse could there be than our forth-coming show at RHS Garden Wisley? The tulips are flourishing and we hope to join them, displaying our freshest designs in silver tableware, cookware and candlesticks.
This month the workshop favourite is our new range of Bingley Spoons, inspired by our very own workshop mascot!
This month we would like to warmly welcome the newest member of the workshop team. Introducing Mr George Bingley, who will be our acting workshop mascot for 2015!
Mr Bingley, known to us simply as ‘Bingley’, joined the team in January and has settled in very well over the last few months. He found time in his busy schedule, however, to tell us a little bit about himself and comment on his time in the workshop so far.
If, like us, you’ve noticed the brighter days and the garden springing into life, you’ll be in no doubt that Spring is finally here!
This month the focus in the workshop has been on spoons and after the indulgent Christmas period we have been rediscovering the simple joy and unbeatable practicality of the ladle.
This month we spent a few days in Germany at the international Ambiente trade show, where manufacturers of dining and tableware come from all over the world to show their new designs. From kitchen trends to prestige dining, it’s all there – a veritable wonderland for anyone enthusiastic about pots, pans, utensils and cutlery.
How do you like yours? The traditional sugar and squeeze of lemon or do you like to spice things up with a sprinkle of cinnamon?
We did Pancake Day in style this year with your our solid silver crepe pan and brand new silver side ladle.
With supermarket aisles filling up with heart-shaped, rose-adorned chocolates and love tokens, whether you’re loved up or not, Valentine’s Day is hard to miss. And if you are trying to treat a special someone, these days it’s getting harder and harder to be original. Do you go down the traditional route of flowers and cards or try your hand at rustling up a romantic dinner for two? Or are you among those hundreds of people who leave it until 6pm on 13th February…?
Our solution? Say it with candlesticks. And of all our sterling silver designs, the XY Candlesticks are ideal for this kind of social semaphore…
All you have to do is decide which position will best reflect what’s in your heart… Still not sure? Luckily you’ve got plenty to choose from! Here are a few suggestions:
Sometimes it’s good to go back to basics. What better way, we thought, to start the cycle of a new year in the workshop than to remind ourselves of the cycle that each piece of silverware goes through on its way to your dining table!
2015 has well and truly dawned and we’ve decided to get the workshop off to a positive start by opening it up to you!
Top of our New Year’s Resolution list (just above ‘keep workshop tidier’ and ‘stop buying hammers on eBay’…) is ‘start workshop blog’, so here we are!
If you own a piece of our silverware already, this is your chance to take a peek behind the scenes at the workshop where your piece was made.
This time of year is all about beating those January blues and keeping out the cold, so the workshop favourite for this month has got to be the silver saucepan.
We’ve been using it to finish off the last of the Christmas mulled wine – the perfect winter warmer!
